3 months

Happy 3 months, Brady Bear!!

Within the last couple weeks, I have noticed a change in Brady.  He is no longer a sleepy newborn, but a bouncy, smiley infant baby!  I love this stage and I love watching him grow and become more interactive!

At 3 months:

*is wearing a size two diaper
*wearing 3-6 month clothing
*is somewhere between 14-15 lbs (love my little chunker!!)
*eats 4 oz of formula every 2.5-3 hours during the day
*still waking up every 2.5-3 hours at night!  I can count on my hand the number of nights where he has slept more than 4 hours.
*Brady has fallen in love with bath time!!  He no longer screams and cries like there is no tomorrow! Now, he coos and smiles!  The other night he even started kicking his legs in the water!
*Coos, smiles, and babbles!  His voice is just the sweetest thing ever!
*Someone found his hands!  He loves to try to put his whole fist in his mouth!
*Likes to reach and grab things. His favorite: mama's hair!
*I can tell when he is about to cry...he curls his bottom lips and makes the cutest pout face!
*is so alert and loves to look around and take everything in!
*rolled over once from tummy to back
*loves his Wubbanub!
*loves his cousin Emily(she thinks Brady is one of her baby dolls)

Little Bear at 2 months

My Liitle Cub turned two months old on March 9!

He had his 2 month doctor appointment at 10 weeks, and he weighed in at 13 lbs 2 oz and measured at 23 inches in height. He is quite the big boy! I love our pediatrician and so does Brady!  He is an absolute angel when Dr. Chen is examining him.  Brady flashed her smiles and cooed and blew raspberries at her.  Such a flirt! He also showed off how strong he is! When Dr. Chen placed Brady on his tummy, he lifted up his chest and head and propped himself up on his elbows! She was quite impressed! Brady has great head and neck strength and control for his age.

Bear also got his shots at this appointment! Ouch! Little guy did not like those needles one bit! He cried in the office for a bit, but he calmed down once we got to the car. He slept and wimpered throughout the day, but overall, Brady handled the shots with no problem.

Sleep: Brady is still waking up every 2.5 to 3 hours to feed during the night. Sometimes he can go a stretch of 4 hours, but those are few and far between. Brady is not the best night sleeper! He wakes up numerous times during the night, and this makes for one tired mama! He usually starts the night off sleeping in his swinger all swaddled up, but eventually makes his way to our bed. He will cry and scream if he is not laying down next to us. Bad habit, I know! I'm not a fan of co-sleeping and want him to learn to sleep in his own crib, so I've got my work cut out for me! The hubby and I plan on making the transition around month 4. During the day, Brady is on an "eat, play, sleep" routine. He eats, plays for 30 minutes, naps for 2 hours, then he is up to eat again. Brady has a hard time soothing himself to sleep. Towards the end of his "play" time he will usually start to get cranky and cry, and that's my cue to rock him to sleep. He usually naps on my chest, in my arms, or on the bed if I nap with him. This kid does not like to be left alone! He likes being held close!

Eat: Brady eats every 2.5-3 hours! He will down 4 oz at every feeding. I breastfed up to 10 weeks and now he is strictly on formula. I don't want to hear it from anyone about how they breastfed for 12 whole months! I had trouble breastfeeding and my milk ran dry. Switching to strictly formula has relieved a lot of the stress and exhaustion that I had about feeding my baby. Plus, Brady is happy and healthy!

Activity: Brady loves tummy time! He loves to hold his head up and look around! He still hates bath time or anytime that I have to change his diaper or clothes. The kid still hates his car seat and being in the car!  He loves his activity mat and looking at his red bird.  He also likes toys that jingle, rattle, or play music.
