What a blessing this past year has been! Mike and I are so grateful to be parents to this baby boy!
We are just so amazed at how much he changes, grows, and learns each day! Our hearts are full of so much love and happiness because of this boy!
At 12 months:
-weighs 25 lbs, 11 oz; measures at 31 inches; and head circumference measures at 18.9 inches.
-wears size 4 diapers and 18 month clothing
-has two bottom teeth
-is walking around everywhere!
-my little boy is not a good sleeper! He goes to bed around 8:30 at night and is up at 5:00 am in the morning! He cries and moans a lot through the night which usually requires Mama or Daddy waking up to soothe him back to sleep. Brady takes two naps a day. One morning nap around 9:00 that lasts from 45 minutes to an hour, and then one afternoon nap around 1:00 that lasts anywhere between one to two hours. Brady seems to be a restless sleeper. He constantly kicks, squirms, and flips around in his sleep. There's no telling how you will find him sleeping in the morning time.
-what Brady lacks in sleeping, he makes up for in eating! My boy can eat! He eats pretty much anything we put in front of him! His favorites are turkey, chicken, ground beef, rice, waffles, goldfish, mandarin oranges, greek yogurt, fish sticks, mac n cheese, and fruit strips.
-is drinking organic whole milk and is completely done with formula!
-says Dada, Mama, baba(bottle), Pa(PawPaw), and bye-bye. Brady repeats a lot of things I say throughout the day, as well as babbles a bunch of silly nonsense. Brady points at things and seems to try to communicate his wants and needs.
-has such a fun personality! He loves to make silly noises with his mouth and laugh! My favorite thing is when he is trying to mimic something we do, such as when he hears a cough or a sneeze and then he will fake cough or sneeze. Or when he hears someone laughing really hard, he will laugh out loud too! He mimics sounds and movements that we do and it is so cute! I especially love when I am brushing my hair and he takes the brush and then brushes his own hair. It's so fascinating to see how he observes things and catches on!
-he is such a good little helper when it comes to doing house chores! He loves to take clean, folded clothes out of the laundry basket, take dirty dishes out of the dishwasher, take his play broom and sweep the floors, and take things from the trash can. He is also a good helper in the kitchen. When I am cooking, he loves to play with spoons, mixing bowls, tupperware, and baking pans.
-loves the outdoors! He loves our daily walks and enjoys being outside. He loves going to the park and giggles when he is on the slide or swing. His favorite thing to do is search the ground for leaves, rocks, or sticks to pick up and put in his mouth.
-has an attachment to his Wubby...a pacifier with a stuffed red dog attached. He has many other pacis, but his Wubby is his favorite. He needs his Wubby when he is fussy or when he is sleepy. We don't leave the house without his Wubby!
-loves bath time and the water!
-loves to play with blocks, balls, cars, toys that make loud noises, Mickey Mouse stuffed animal, books, remote controls, electronic devices, electrical cords, and all kinds of paper(magazines, mail, receipts, cards) that he can tear and rip up.
-the biggest challenge with Brady is that he can be very clingy and whiny! He has major separation anxiety with Mama and Daddy. He loves to be held and sometimes will cry for no reason until someone gives in to hold him. He has PawPaw wrapped around his little finger, and PawPaw always gives in to holding Brady. Sometimes Brady will throw a tantrum if we are not sitting down next to him while he plays. Other times he follows us everywhere (kitchen, bathroom, laundry room) and will cry and scream until we pay attention to him. He is the king of temper tantrums! Or should I say fake temper tantrums...wailing, falling to the floor, head in the ground, arching of the back, throwing toys! But once I pick him up, the tears and cries instantly disappear. It is quite a sight to see!
-For the most part, as long as he is rested and fed, Brady is a happy baby! He has such a fun personality! He loves to be around people and loves attention from others! He is cuddly and loves to give hugs and kisses! He is curious and loves to explore and figure things out. He is not afraid of anything. He will climb, crawl, walk, or wander to anything that catches his attention. He falls constantly(sometimes with tears), but always gets back up. He is a tough boy! I call him "the tank" because he will plow through people and things to get what he wants. He really is just so much fun and I can't wait to see what is in store for the next 12 months!
